Account of the baryonic feedback effect in γ-ray measurements of intergalactic magnetic fields / Bondarenko, Kyrylo (CERN ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Boyarsky, Alexey (Leiden U.) ; Korochkin, Alexander (APC, Paris ; Moscow, INR ; Novosibirsk State U.) ; Neronov, Andrii (APC, Paris ; U. Geneva (main)) ; Semikoz, Dmitri (APC, Paris ; Moscow, INR ; Moscow Phys. Eng. Inst.) ; Sokolenko, Anastasia (OAW, Vienna)
Intergalactic magnetic fields in the voids of the large-scale structure can be probed via measurements of secondary gamma-ray emission from gamma-ray interactions with extragalactic background light. Lower bounds on the magnetic field in the voids were derived from the non-detection of this emission. [...]

Magnetization of the intergalactic medium in the IllustrisTNG simulations: the importance of extended, outflow-driven bubbles / Garcia, Andres Aramburo (Leiden U.) ; Bondarenko, Kyrylo (CERN ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Boyarsky, Alexey (Leiden U.) ; Nelson, Dylan (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Pillepich, Annalisa (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst. Astron.) ; Sokolenko, Anastasia (Vienna, OAW)
We study the effects of galaxy formation physics on the magnetization of the intergalactic medium (IGM) using the IllustrisTNG simulations. We demonstrate that large-scale regions affected by the outflows from galaxies and clusters contain magnetic fields that are several orders of magnitude stronger than in unaffected regions with the same electron density. Ultrahigh energy cosmic ray deflection by the intergalactic magnetic field / Garcia, Andres Aramburo (Leiden U.) ; Bondarenko, Kyrylo (CERN ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Boyarsky, Alexey (Leiden U.) ; Nelson, Dylan (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Pillepich, Annalisa (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst. Astron.) ; Sokolenko, Anastasia (Vienna, OAW)
The origin and composition of ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) remain a mystery. The common lore is that UHECRs are deflected from their primary directions by the Galactic and extragalactic magnetic fields. [...]

The gamma-ray and neutrino sky: a consistent picture of Fermi-LAT, H.E.S.S., Milagro, and IceCube results / Gaggero, Daniele (INFN, Pisa ; SISSA, Trieste ; U. Amsterdam, GRAPPA) ; Grasso, Dario (INFN, Pisa ; Pisa U.) ; Marinelli, Antonio (INFN, Pisa ; Pisa U.) ; Urbano, Alfredo (INFN, Trieste ; SISSA, Trieste ; CERN) ; Valli, Mauro (INFN, Trieste ; SISSA, Trieste)
In this Letter we propose a novel interpretation of the anomalous TeV gamma-ray diffuse emission observed by Milagro in the inner Galactic plane consistent with the signal reported by H.E.S.S. in the Galactic ridge; remarkably, our picture also accounts for a relevant portion of the neutrino flux measured by IceCube. High-energy astroparticle physics / Semikoz, A (APC, Paris)
In these three lectures I discuss the present status of high-energy astroparticle physics including Ultra-High-Energy Cosmic Rays (UHECR), high-energy gamma rays, and neutrinos. The first lecture is devoted to ultra-high-energy cosmic rays. [...]

Characterization of a tagged $\gamma$-ray beam line at the DAFNE Beam Test Facility / Cattaneo, P W (INFN, Pavia) ; Argan, A ; Boffelli, F ; Bulgarelli, A ; Buonomo, B ; Chen, A W ; D’Ammando, F ; FoggettA, L ; Froysland, T ; Fuschino, F et al.
At the core of the AGILE scientific instrument, designed to operate on a satellite, there is the Gamma Ray Imaging Detector (GRID) consisting of a Silicon Tracker (ST), a Cesium Iodide Mini-Calorimeter and an Anti-Coincidence system of plastic scintillator bars. The ST needs an on-ground calibration with a γ-ray beam to validate the simulation used to calculate the energy response function and the effective area versus the energy and the direction of the γ rays.
