Fast-timing study in the 78Ni region: $\beta$-Decay of 81Zn
/ Paziy, V (Madrid U.) ; Mach, H (Madrid U. ; Warsaw, Inst. Nucl. Studies) ; Fraile, L M (Madrid U.) ; Aprahamian, A (Notre Dame U.) ; Bernards, C (Yale U. ; Cologne U.) ; Briz, J A (Madrid U.) ; Bucher, B (Notre Dame U.) ; Chiara, C J (Argonne, PHY ; Maryland U., Dept. Chem.) ; Dlouhý, Z (Rez, Nucl. Phys. Inst.) ; Gheorghe, I (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) et al.
The neutron-rich nucleus $^{81}$Ga was populated from the $\beta$-decay of $^{81}$Zn produced at the ISOLDE (CERN) facility. The analysis of $\beta$-gated $\gamma$-ray singles and $\gamma-\gamma$ coincidences permits to extend significantly the level scheme of $^{81}$Ga as well as to provide a new half-life for $^{81}$Zn. Search for the $^{73}\mathrm{Ga}$ ground-state doublet splitting in the $\beta$ decay of $^{73}\mathrm{Zn}$
/ Vedia, V (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Paziy, V (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Fraile, L M (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Mach, H (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys. ; NCBJ, Swierk) ; Walters, W B (Maryland U., Dept. Chem.) ; Aprahamian, A (Notre Dame U.) ; Bernards, C (Cologne U. ; Yale U. (main)) ; Briz, J A (Madrid, Inst. Estructura Materia) ; Bucher, B (Notre Dame U. ; LLNL, Livermore) ; Chiara, C J (Maryland U., Dept. Chem. ; Argonne, PHY) et al.
The existence of two close-lying nuclear states in $^{73}$Ga has recently been experimentally determined: a 1/2$^−$ spin-parity for the ground state was measured in a laser spectroscopy experiment, while a J$^{\pi} = 3/2^−$ level was observed in transfer reactions. This scenario is supported by Coulomb excitation studies, which set a limit for the energy splitting of 0.8 keV. [...]

Low-spin states in $^{80}$Ge populated in the $\beta$ decay of the $^{80}$Ga $3^-$ isomer

The structure of
$^{80}$Ge has been investigated at the ISOLDE facility at CERN. A previous study reported for the first time a low-lying $0^+_2$ intruder state at 639 keV, based on the coincidence with a previously unobserved 1764-keV $γ$ ray, and suggested it as evidence for shape coexistence in $^{80}$Ge. [...]

Investigation of the $\Delta n = 0$ selection rule in Gamow-Teller transitions: The $\beta$-decay of $^{207}$Hg
/ Berry, T A (Surrey U.) ; Podolyák, Zs (Surrey U.) ; Carroll, R J (Surrey U.) ; Lică, R (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Grawe, H ; Timofeyuk, N K (Surrey U.) ; Alexander, T (Surrey U.) ; Andreyev, A N (York U., England) ; Ansari, S (Cologne U.) ; Borge, M J G (CERN ; Madrid, Inst. Estructura Materia) et al.
Gamow-Teller $\beta$ decay is forbidden if the number of nodes in the radial wave functions of the initial and final states is different. This $\Delta n=0$ requirement plays a major role in the $\beta$ decay of heavy neutron-rich nuclei, affecting the nucleosynthesis through the increased half-lives of nuclei on the astrophysical $r$-process pathway below both $Z=50$ (for $N>82$ ) and $Z=82$ (for $N>126$). The occurrence of octupolar shapes in the Ba isotopic chain was recently established experimentally up to $N=90$. To further extend the systematics, the evolution of shapes in the most neutron-rich members of the $Z=56$ isotopic chain accessible at present, $^{148,150}$Ba, has been studied via $\beta$ decay at the ISOLDE Decay Station. The β− decay of Mg34 was used to study the Al34 nucleus through γ spectroscopy at the Isotope Separator On-Line facility of CERN. Previous studies identified two β-decaying states in Al34 having spin-parity assignments Jπ=4− dominated by the normal configuration π(d5/2)−1⊗ν(f7/2) and Jπ=1+ by the intruder configuration π(d5/2)−1⊗ν(d3/2)−1(f7/2)2. The levels in Sn129 populated from the β− decay of In129 isomers were investigated at the ISOLDE facility of CERN using the newly commissioned ISOLDE Decay Station (IDS). The lowest 1/2+ state and the 3/2+ ground state in Sn129 are expected to have configurations dominated by the neutron s1/2 (l=0) and d3/2 (l=2) single-particle states, respectively. [...]

New $\beta$-decaying state in $^{214}$Bi
/ IDS Collaboration
A new $\beta$-decaying state in $^{214}$Bi has been identified at the ISOLDE Decay Station at the CERN-ISOLDE facility. A preferred $I^{\pi} = (8^-)$ assignment was suggested for this state based on the β-decay feeding pattern to levels in $^{214}$Po and shell-model calculations. [...]

Search for isospin-symmetry breaking in the $A=62$ isovector triplet
/ Mihai, R E (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Mare, A S (Bucharest, IFIN-HH ; Bucharest U.) ; Mărginean, N (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Petrovici, A (Bucharest, IFIN-HH ; Bucharest U.) ; Andrei, O (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Boromiza, M (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Bucurescu, D (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Căta-Danil, G (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Clisu, C (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Costache, C (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) et al.
The assignment of the first $2^+$ state in $^{62}$Ga has long been debated, due to its implications in triplet energy difference systematics in this mass region. An experiment has been performed at the IFIN-HH 9-MV Tandem accelerator using the ROSPHERE array in a mixed configuration of LaBr$_3$(Ce) and HPGe detectors, as well as an additional array of liquid scintillator neutron detectors.
