Quasi-monoenergetic neutron energy spectra for 246 and 389 MeV (7)Li(p,n) reactions at angles from 0 degrees to 300 degrees / Iwamoto, Y (JAEA, Ibaraki) ; Theis, C (CERN) ; Nakamura, T (Tohoku U.) ; Nakashima, H (JAEA, Ibaraki) ; Mares, V (GSF Inst. Strahlensch., Neuherberg) ; Itoga, T (JAERI-RIKEN, Hyogo) ; Matsumoto, T (AIST, Tsukuba) ; Nakane, Y (JAEA, Ibaraki) ; Feldbaumer, E (CERN) ; Jaegerhofer, L (CERN) et al.
The authors measured the neutron energy spectra of a quasi-monoenergetic (7)Li(p,n) neutron source with 246 and 389 MeV protons set at seven angles (0 degrees, 2.5 degrees, 5 degrees, 10 degrees, 15 degrees, 20 degrees and 30 degrees), using a time-of-flight (TOF) method employing organic scintillators NE213 at the Research Center for Nuclear Physics (RCNP) of Osaka University. The energy spectra of the source neutrons were precisely deduced down to 2 MeV at 0 degrees and 10 MeV at other angles. [...]

Characterization of the PTW 34031 ionization chamber (PMI) at RCNP with high energy neutrons ranging from 100 – 392 MeV / Theis, C (CERN) ; Carbonez, P (CERN) ; Feldbaumer, E (CERN) ; Forkel-Wirth, D (CERN) ; Jaegerhofer, L (CERN) ; Pangallo, M (CERN) ; Perrin, D (CERN) ; Urscheler, C (CERN) ; Roesler, S (CERN) ; H Vincke (CERN) et al.
Radiation monitoring at high energy proton accelerators poses a considerable challenge due to the complexity of the encountered stray radiation fields. These environments comprise a wide variety of different particle types and span from fractions of electron-volts up to several terra electron-volts. [...]

Comparison of Bonner sphere responses calculated by different Monte Carlo codes at energies between 1 MeV and 1 GeV – Potential impact on neutron dosimetry at energies higher than 20 MeV / Rühm, W (Helmholtz Zentrum Munchen, Neuherberg) ; Mares, V (Helmholtz Zentrum Munchen, Neuherberg) ; Pioch, C (Helmholtz Zentrum Munchen, Neuherberg) ; Agosteo, S (Milan Polytechnic) ; Endo, A (JAEA, Ibaraki) ; Ferrarini, M (CNAO, Milan) ; Rakhno, I (Fermilab) ; Rollet, S (Austrian Inst. Bonner Spheres Spectrometry in its high-energy extended version is an established method to quantify neutrons at a wide energy range from several meV up to more than 1 GeV. In order to allow for quantitative measurements, the responses of the various spheres used in a Bonner Sphere Spectrometer (BSS) are usually simulated by Monte Carlo (MC) codes over the neutron energy range of interest. ICRP Publication 116—the first ICRP/ICRU application of the male and female adult reference computational phantoms / Petoussi-Henss, Nina (Helmholtz Zentrum Munchen, Neuherberg) ; Bolch, Wesley E (Florida U.) ; Eckerman, Keith F (Oak Ridge) ; Endo, Akira (JAEA, Ibaraki) ; Hertel, Nolan (Georgia Tech) ; Hunt, John (Rio de Janeiro, Inst. Rad. Prot. Dosim.) ; Menzel, Hans G (CERN) ; Pelliccioni, Maurizio (Frascati) ; Schlattl, Helmut (Helmholtz Zentrum Munchen, Neuherberg) ; Zankl, Maria (Helmholtz Zentrum Munchen, Neuherberg)
ICRP Publication 116 on `Conversion coefficients for radiological protection quantities for external radiation exposures', provides fluence-to-dose conversion coefficients for organ-absorbed doses and effective dose for various types of external exposures (ICRP 2010 ICRP Publication 116). The publication supersedes the ICRP Publication 74 (ICRP 1996 ICRP Publication 74, ICRU 1998 ICRU Report 57), including new particle types and expanding the energy ranges considered. [...]

This paper reviews the ICRP Publications 110 and 116 describing the reference computational phantoms and dose conversion coefficients for external exposures. The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) in its 2007 Recommendations made several revisions to the methods of calculation of the protection quantities. [...]
