Building Scalable Analysis Infrastructure for ATLAS / Gardner Jr, Robert William (University of Chicago (US)) ; Lancon, Eric (Brookhaven National Laboratory (US)) ; Vukotic, Ilija (University of Chicago (US)) ; Bryant, Lincoln (University of Chicago (US)) ; Golnaraghi, Farnaz (University of Chicago (US)) ; Stephen, Judith Lorraine (University of Chicago (US)) ; Taylor, Ryan (University of Victoria (CA)) ; Hu, Fengping (University of Chicago (US)) /ATLAS Collaboration
We explore the adoption of cloud-native tools and principles to forge flexible and scalable infrastructures, aimed at supporting analysis frameworks being developed for the ATLAS experiment in the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) era. The project culminated in the creation of a federated platform, integrating Kubernetes clusters from various providers such as Tier-2 centers, Tier-3 centers, and from the IRIS-HEP Scalable Systems Laboratory, a National Science Foundation project. The CELESTA CubeSat In-Flight Radiation Measurements and Their Comparison With Ground Facilities Predictions / Coronetti, Andrea (CERN) ; Zimmaro, Alessandro (CERN) ; Alía, Rubén García (CERN) ; Danzeca, Salvatore (CERN) ; Masi, Alessandro (CERN) ; Slipukhin, Ivan (CERN) ; Amodio, Alessio (CERN) ; Dijks, Jasper (CERN) ; Peronnard, Paul (CERN) ; Secondo, Raffaello (CERN) et al.
The CELESTA CubeSat has employed radiation monitors developed by the Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire (CERN) Centre, used for measuring the radiation environment at accelerators, to measure the space radiation field in a medium-Earth orbit (MEO). The technology is based on three static random-access memories (SRAMs) that are sensitive to single-event upsets (SEUs) and single-event latchups (SELs). [...]

Operational Intelligence in the ATLAS Continuous Integration System / Undrus, Alexander (Brookhaven National Laboratory (US)) /ATLAS Collaboration
The ATLAS Continuous Integration (CI) System is the major component of the ATLAS software development infrastructure, synchronizing efforts of several hundred software developers working around the world and around the clock. Powered by 700 fast processors, it is based on the ATLAS GitLab code management service and Jenkins CI server and performs daily up to 100 ATLAS software builds probing the code changes proposed in merge requests. [...]

Simulating HEP Workflows on Heterogeneous Architectures / Leggett, Charles (LBL, Berkeley) ; Shapoval, Illya (LBL, Berkeley) /ATLAS
The next generation of supercomputing facilities, such as Oak Ridge's Summit and Lawrence Livermore's Sierra, show an increasing use of GPGPUs and other accelerators in order to achieve their high FLOP counts. This trend will only grow with exascale facilities. [...]

Understanding the Performance of a Prototype of a WLCG Data Lake for HL-LHC / Schovancová, Jaroslava (CERN) ; Campana, Simone (CERN) ; Espinal Curull, Xavier (CERN) ; Girone, Maria (CERN) ; Kadochnikov, Ivan (Dubna, JINR) ; McCance, Gavin John (CERN)
Storage is identified as one of the main challenges for WLCG in the next decade in the computing strategy document for HL-LHC [1]. Extrapolating todays computing models, the ATLAS and CMS experiments alone would need one order of magnitude more storage resources than what could be provided by the funding agencies. [...]

A Verification Platform to provide the Functional, Characterization and Production testing for the VFAT3 ASIC / Petrow, H (Lappeenranta U. Tech.) ; Aspell, P (CERN) ; Bravo, C (UCLA, Los Angeles (main)) ; Dabrowski, M (CERN) ; De Lentdecker, G (U. Brussels (main)) ; Leroux, P (Leuven U.) ; De Robertis, G (INFN, Bari) ; Irshad, A (Unlisted, PK) ; Lenzi, T (U. Brussels (main)) ; Licciulli, F (INFN, Bari) et al.
VFAT3 is a front-end ASIC designed for the readout of GEM detectors in the CMS Muon system. The strategy for the chip design was to design the full chip at once but provide extensive test and debug facilities for individual characterization of each internal chip module. [...]
