Upgrade of the PS booster-to-ISOLDE beam transfer line to facilitate an increase in proton driver energy
/ Fraser, Matthew (CERN) ; Bernardes, Ana (CERN) ; Newborough, Antony (CERN) ; del Alamo, Daniel (CERN) ; Grenier-Boley, Edouard (CERN) ; Pozzi, Fabio (CERN) ; Di Giovanni, Gian Piero (CERN) ; Corso, Jean-Pierre (CERN) ; Vollaire, Joachim (CERN) ; Ferreira Somoza, Jose (CERN) et al.
Following the successful completion of the LHC Injectors Upgrade (LIU) project, since 2021 the Proton Synchrotron (PS) Booster has served the LHC injector chain with protons at an increased kinetic energy of 2 GeV. An upgrade of the ISOLDE (Isotope Separator On-Line DEvice) facility has long been considered to produce radioactive ion beams with a higher energy proton driver beam. [...]

Commissioning of the RFQcb at the Isolde Offline 2 target test facility
/ Schuett, M (CERN) ; Rothe, S (CERN) ; Au, M (CERN ; Mainz U.) ; Koliatos, A (CERN) ; Bissell, M (CERN) ; Bidault, N (CERN) ; Le, L (CERN) ; Boucherie, A (CERN) ; Heinke, R (CERN) ; Chrysalidis, K (CERN) et al.
The Offline 2 mass separator laboratory is part of the CERN-ISOLDE Offline facilities - a suite of installations required to perform essential quality control on target and ion source units before irradiation at CERN-ISOLDE. The facility is also used for offline studies as a prerequisite before conducting any beam development on-line, especially establishing systematic effects. [...]

CERN-MEDICIS: A Review Since Commissioning in 2017
/ MEDICIS Collaboration
The CERN-MEDICIS (MEDical Isotopes Collected from ISolde) facility has delivered its first radioactive ion beam at CERN (Switzerland) in December 2017 to support the research and development in nuclear medicine using non-conventional radionuclides. Since then, fourteen institutes, including CERN, have joined the collaboration to drive the scientific program of this unique installation and evaluate the needs of the community to improve the research in imaging, diagnostics, radiation therapy and personalized medicine. CERN-MEDICIS: A Unique Facility for the Production of Non-Conventional Radionuclides for the Medical Research
/ Duchemin, Charlotte (CERN) ; Barbero-Soto, Esther (CERN) ; Bernardes, Ana (CERN) ; Catherall, Richard (CERN) ; Chevallay, Eric (CERN) ; Cocolios, Thomas (Leuven U.) ; Dorsival, Alexandre (CERN) ; Fedosseev, Valentin (CERN) ; Fernier, Pascal (CERN) ; Gilardoni, Simone (CERN) et al.
The MEDICIS facility is a unique facility located at CERN dedicated to the production of non-conventional radionuclides for research and development in imaging, diagnostics and radiation therapy. It exploits in a Class A work sector, a dedicated isotope separator beam line, a target irradiation station at the 1.4 GeV Proton Synchroton Booster (PSB) and receives activated targets from external institutes during CERN Long Shut-Downs. Quantification of radioisotopes produced in 1.4 GeV proton irradiated lead–bismuth eutectic targets

Six cylindrical lead bismuth eutectic (LBE) targets having fixed diameter of 6 mm and varying lengths of 8–50 mm were irradiated with a 1.4 GeV proton beam at CERN-ISOLDE. Both short-lived ($5\hbox { h } {<}\hbox {T}_{1/2} {<}5\hbox { days}$) and long-lived ($\hbox {T}_{1/2} {>}5\hbox { days}$) radionuclides were identified by off-line $\gamma $-spectrometry and their activities at the end of bombardment (EOB) were determined.
