First operational experience of the upgraded cryogenic infrastructure of the vertical magnet test facility in the SM18 hall, including HFM and cluster D test stations. / Benda, V (CERN) ; Lees, A (CERN) ; Pirotte, O (CERN) ; Craen, A Vande (CERN) ; Pezzetti, M (CERN) ; Lamboy, J P (CERN) ; Lefebvre, V (CERN) ; Bajko, M (CERN) ; Giloux, C (CERN)
As part of the R&D; program for HL-LHC, the future upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the vertical magnet test facility in the SM18 cryogenic test hall at CERN has seen significant development. Since the installation of HFM and Cluster D cryogenic test stations in 2017, the facility is comprised of five vertical test cryostats of various sizes operating at either 1.9 K or 4.2 K. [...]

First Assessment of Reliability Data for the LHC Accelerator and Detector Cryogenic System Components / Perinic, G (CERN) ; Claudet, S (CERN) ; Alonso-Canella, I (CERN) ; Balle, C (CERN) ; Barth, K (CERN) ; Bel, J F (CERN) ; Benda, V (CERN) ; Bremer, J (CERN) ; Brodzinski, K (CERN) ; Casas-Cubillos, J (CERN) et al.
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) cryogenic system comprises eight independent refrigeration and distribution systems that supply the eight 3.3 km long accelerator sectors with cryogenic refrigeration power as well as four refrigeration systems for the needs of the detectors ATLAS and CMS. In order to ensure the highest possible reliability of the installations, it is important to apply a reliability centred approach for the maintenance. [...]

Automatic Management Systems for the Operation of the Cryogenic Test Facilities for LHC Series Superconducting Magnets / Tovar-Gonzalez, A ; Axensalva, J ; Herblin, L ; Lamboy, J P ; Vullierme, B
Prior to their final preparation before installation in the tunnel, the ~1800 series superconducting magnets of the LHC machine shall be entirely tested at reception on modular test facilities. The operation 24 hours per day of the cryogenic test facilities is conducted in turn by 3-operator teams, assisted in real time by the use of the Test Bench Priorities Handling System, a process control application enforcing the optimum use of cryogenic utilities and of the "Tasks Tracking System", a web-based e-traveller application handling 12 parallel 38-task test sequences. Cryogenic Infrastructure for Testing of LHC Series Superconducting Magnets / Axensalva, J ; Benda, V ; Herblin, L ; Lamboy, J P ; Tovar-Gonzalez, A ; Vuillerme, B
The ~1800 superconducting magnets for the LHC machine shall be entirely tested at reception before their installation in the tunnel. For this purpose and in order to reach the reliability and efficiency at the nominal load required for an industrial operation for several years, we have gradually upgraded and retrofitted the cryogenic facilities installed in the early nineties for the testing at CERN of prototypes and preseries magnets. Control System and Operation of the Cryogenic Test Facilities for LHC Series Superconducting Magnets / Axensalva, J ; Herblin, L ; Lamboy, J P ; Tovar-Gonzalez, A ; Vullierme, B
Prior to their final preparation before installation in the tunnel, the ~1800 series superconducting magnets of the LHC machine will be entirely tested at reception on modular test facilities using dedicated control systems. The test facilities are operated by teams of high-skilled and trained operators. [...]
