Installation and Commissioning of the CMS Level-1 Calorimeter Trigger Upgrade / Klabbers, Pamela Renee (Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Aggleton, Robin Cameron (Bristol U.) ; Baber, Mark David John (Imperial Coll., London) ; Barbieri, Richard Alexander (MIT) ; Belknap, Donald Austin (Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Berryhill, Jeffrey (Fermilab) ; Brooke, James John (Bristol U.) ; Bundock, Aaron (Imperial Coll., London) ; Cali, Ivan Amos (MIT) ; Cepeda, Maria Luisa (Wisconsin U., Madison) et al.
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment is currently installing upgrades to their Calorimeter Trigger for LHC Run 2 to ensure that the trigger thresholds can stay low, and physics data collection will not be compromised. The electronics will be upgraded in two stages. [...]

First Results from Pb+Pb collisions at the LHC / Muller, Berndt (Duke U.) ; Schukraft, Jurgen (CERN) ; Wyslouch, Boleslaw (MIT)
At the end of 2010, the CERN Large Hadron Collider started operation with heavy ion beams, colliding lead nuclei at a centre-of-mass energy of 2.76 TeV/nucleon and opening a new era in ultra-relativistic heavy ion physics at energies exceeding previous accelerators by more than an order of magnitude. This review summarizes the results from the first year of heavy ion physics at LHC obtained by the three experiments participating in the heavy ion program, ALICE, ATLAS, and CMS..

Heavy Ion Physics with the Compact Muon Solenoid at the Large Hadron Collider / Wyslouch, Boleslaw (MIT) /CMS Collaboration
The LHC will collide protons at center of mass energy of 14 TeV and lead beams at center of mass energy per nucleon pair of 5.5 TeV as well as other A+A and p+A combinations. The physics program of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) includes the study of heavy ion collisions. [...]
