New Upper Limit on the Axion-Photon Coupling with an Extended CAST Run with a Xe-Based Micromegas Detector / CAST Collaboration
Hypothetical axions provide a compelling explanation for dark matter and could be emitted from the hot solar interior. The CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST) has been searching for solar axions via their back conversion to X-ray photons in a 9-T 10-m long magnet directed towards the Sun. [...]

Search for dark matter axions with CAST-CAPP / Adair, C.M. (British Columbia U.) ; Altenmüller, K. (Zaragoza U.) ; Anastassopoulos, V. (Patras U.) ; Cuendis, S. Arguedas (CERN) ; Baier, J. (Freiburg U.) ; Barth, K. (CERN) ; Belov, A. (Moscow, INR) ; Bozicevic, D. (Rijeka U.) ; Bräuninger, H. (Garching, Max Planck Inst., MPE) ; Cantatore, G. (INFN, Trieste ; Trieste U.) et al.
The CAST-CAPP axion haloscope, operating at CERN inside the CAST dipole magnet, has searched for axions in the 19.74 $\mu$eV to 22.47 $\mu$eV mass range. The detection concept follows the Sikivie haloscope principle, where Dark Matter axions convert into photons within a resonator immersed in a magnetic field. [...]

First results of the CAST-RADES haloscope search for axions at 34.67 $\mu$eV / CAST Collaboration
We present results of the Relic Axion Dark-Matter Exploratory Setup (RADES), a detector which is part of the CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST), searching for axion dark matter in the 34.67$\mu$eV mass range. A radio frequency cavity consisting of 5 sub-cavities coupled by inductive irises took physics data inside the CAST dipole magnet for the first time using this filter-like haloscope geometry. [...]

On the Direct Detection of Dark Matter in the Stratosphere / Cantatore, Giovanni (INFN, Trieste ; Trieste U.) ; Çetin, Serkant A. We investigate the prospects for direct detection of Dark Matter (DM) particles, such as dark photons, incident on the upper atmosphere. A recent work relates the burst-like temperature excursions in the stratosphere at heights of ~38-47 km with incident invisible streaming matter. [...]

The CAST Experiment: Status Report / Karuza, Martin (Rijeka U. ; INFN, Trieste) /CAST
The CAST (Cern Axion Solar Telescope) experiment has been looking at the Sun for more than a decade now in its quest of observing a signal coming from the conversion of the axions in the telescope's magnetic field. Such a signal has not been observed thus allowing the collaboration to set only an upper limit to the axion - photon coupling constant in the parameter space. [...]

Search for streaming dark matter axions or other exotica / Gardikiotis, A (Patras U.) ; Anastassopoulos, V (Patras U.) ; Bertolucci, S (INFN, Bologna) ; Cantatore, G (U. We suggest a new approach to search for galactic axions or other similar exotica. Streaming dark matter (DM) could have a better discovery potential because of flux enhancement, due to gravitational lensing when the Sun and/or a planet are aligned with a DM stream [1]. [...]

Improved Search for Solar Chameleons with a GridPix Detector at CAST / CAST Collaboration
We report on a new search for solar chameleons with the CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST). A GridPix detector was used to search for soft X-ray photons in the energy range from 200 eV to 10 keV from converted solar chameleons. [...]

aKWISP: investigating short-distance interactions at sub-micron scales / Cantatore, G. (INFN, Trieste ; Trieste U.) ; Anastassopoulos, V. (Patras U.) ; Cetin, S. (Istanbul Bilgi U.) ; Fischer, H. (IBS, Daejeon) ; Vitali, D. (Camerino U.) et al.
The sub-micron range in the field of short distance interactions has yet to be opened to experimental investigation, and may well hold the key to understanding al least part of the dark matter puzzle. The aKWISP (advanced-KWISP) project introduces the novel Double Membrane Interaction Monitor (DMIM), a combined source-sensing device where interaction distances can be as short as 100 nm or even 10 nm, much below the 1-10 micron distance which is the lower limit encountered by current experimental efforts.
