Transverse-target-spin asymmetry in exclusive $\omega$-meson electroproduction / HERMES Collaboration
Hard exclusive electroproduction of $\omega$ mesons is studied with the HERMES spectrometer at the DESY laboratory by scattering 27.6 GeV positron and electron beams off a transversely polarized hydrogen target. The amplitudes of five azimuthal modulations of the single-spin asymmetry of the cross section with respect to the transverse proton polarization are measured. [...]

(Santa Maria U., Valparaiso) ; Burton, T. (Brookhaven) ; Chang, N.B. (Shandong U.) et al.
This White Paper presents the science case of an Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), focused on the structure and interactions of gluon-dominated matter, with the intent to articulate it to the broader nuclear science community. It was commissioned by the managements of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab) with the objective of presenting a summary of scientific opportunities and goals of the EIC as a follow-up to the 2007 NSAC Long Range plan. 180th International School of Physics "Enrico Fermi" : Three-dimensional Partonic Stucture of the Nucleon   28 Jun - 8 Jul 2011  - Varenna, Italy  / Anselmino, M (ed.); Avakian, H (ed.); Hasch, D (ed.); Schweitzer, P (ed.)
The three-dimensional nucleon structure is central to many theoretical and experimental activities, and research in this field has seen many advances in the last two decades, addressing fundamental questions such as the orbital motion of quarks and gluons inside the nucleons, their spatial distribution, and the correlation between spin and intrinsic motion. A real three-dimensional imaging of the nucleon as a composite object, both in momentum and coordinate space, is slowly emerging. [...]

The Spin Structure of the Nucleon / Aidala, Christine A. (Michigan U.) ; Bass, Steven D. (Innsbruck U.) ; Hasch, Delia (Frascati) ; Mallot, Gerhard K. (CERN)
This article reviews our present understanding of QCD spin physics: the proton spin puzzle and new developments aimed at understanding the transverse structure of the nucleon. We discuss present experimental investigations of the nucleon's internal spin structure, the theoretical interpretation of the different measurements and the open questions and challenges for future investigation..

Femtoscopy of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=0.9 and 7 TeV at the LHC with two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations / ALICE Collaboration
We report on the high statistics two-pion correlation functions from pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=0.9 TeV and $\sqrt{s}$=7 TeV, measured by the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The correlation functions as well as the extracted source radii scale with event multiplicity and pair momentum. [...]

Two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations in central PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The first measurement of two-pion Bose--Einstein correlations in central PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider is presented. We observe a growing trend with energy now not only for the longitudinal and the outward but also for the sideward pion source radius. [...]

Production of pions, kaons and protons in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 900 GeV with ALICE at the LHC / ALICE Collaboration
The production of $\pi^+, pi^-, K^+, K^-$, p, and $\bar{p}$ at mid-rapidity has been measured in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 900 GeV with the ALICE detector. Particle identification is performed using the specific energy loss in the inner tracking silicon detector and the time projection chamber. [...]

Centrality dependence of the charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The centrality dependence of the charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV is presented. The charged-particle density normalized per participating nucleon pair increases by about a factor 2 from peripheral (70-80%) to central (0-5%) collisions. [...]

Inclusive transverse momentum spectra of primary charged particles in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV have been measured by the ALICE Collaboration at the LHC. The data are presented for central and peripheral collisions, corresponding to 0-5% and 70-80% of the hadronic Pb-Pb cross section. [...]
