Predictions for neutrinos and new physics from forward heavy hadron production at the LHC / Buonocore, Luca (Zurich U.) ; Kling, Felix (DESY) ; Rottoli, Luca (Zurich U.) ; Sominka, Jonas (Hamburg U.)
Scenarios with new physics particles feebly interacting with the Standard Model sector provide compelling candidates for dark matter searches. Geared with a set of new experiments for the detection of neutrinos and long-lived particles the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has joined the hunt for these elusive states. [...]

Over the six months since the submission of the AdvSND LoI \cite{ADVSND_LOI}, the Collaboration has been intensively discussing with the CERN civil engineering team and the High Luminosity LHC (HL LHC) planning officers to fully understand the constraints related to the civil engineering modifications required for TI18 [...]

An event generator for Lepton-Hadron Deep Inelastic Scattering at NLO+PS with POWHEG including mass effects / Buonocore, Luca (CERN) ; Limatola, Giovanni (Turin U.) ; Nason, Paolo (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Tramontano, Francesco (CERN ; Naples U.)
We present a generator for lepton nucleon collisions in the DIS regime, focusing in particular on processes with a massive lepton and/or a massive quark in the final state. We have built a full code matching NLO QCD corrections to parton shower Monte Carlo programs in the POWHEG-BOX framework. [...]

We compute differential distributions for Drell-Yan processes at the LHC and the Tevatron colliders at next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD, including fiducial cuts on the decay leptons in the final state. [...]

Resummation of combined QCD-electroweak effects in Drell Yan lepton-pair production / Buonocore, Luca (CERN) ; Rottoli, Luca (Zurich U.) ; Torrielli, Paolo (Turin U.)
We consider neutral- and charged-current Drell Yan lepton-pair production at hadron colliders, and include dominant classes of electroweak and mixed QCD-electroweak corrections to all orders in perturbation theory. The accurate description of these physical effects is vital for a precise determination of fundamental Standard Model parameters, such as the W-boson mass and the electroweak mixing angle, as well as for a solid assessment of the associated theoretical uncertainties. Subleading power corrections for event shape variables in e+e annihilation / Buonocore, Luca (Zurich U. ; CERN) ; Grazzini, Massimiliano (Zurich U.) ; Guadagni, Flavio (Zurich U.) ; Rottoli, Luca (Zurich U.)
We consider subleading power corrections to event shape variables in e+e collisions at the first order in the QCD coupling αs. We start from the jettiness variable τ2 and the y23 resolution variable for the kT jet clustering algorithm and we analytically compute the corresponding cumulative cross section. [...]

System engineering design approach and virtual assessment of a new charging arm concept for LHC robotic TIM / Zoppoli, Andrea (Naples U.) ; Armentani, Enrico (Naples U.) ; Buonocore, Luca (CERN) ; Buonocore, Sara (Naples U.) ; Di Giovannantonio, Sergio (CERN) ; Di Castro, Mario (CERN) ; Di Gironimo, Giuseppe (Naples U.)
System engineering (SE) methods and principles are nowadays widely adopted in the product development processes, especially in the industrial sector, where saving production time and costs are primary goals. This work describes an application of a particular SE methodology, the V-model-based design, in which the system development lifecycle is divided on the basis of a graphical V-shaped scheme, called V-model.
