Coulomb excitation of Zn74,76
/ ISOLDE Collaboration
The first experiment using radioactive beams post-accelerated by the HIE-ISOLDE facility has enabled to obtain a precise set of B(E2) transition probabilities in neutron-rich Zn74,76 isotopes. The resulting B(E2; 21+→01+) values are consistent with those determined in earlier REX-ISOLDE measurements. [...]

Large Shape Staggering in Neutron-Deficient Bi Isotopes
/ Barzakh, A (St. Petersburg, INP) ; Andreyev, A N (JAEA, Ibaraki ; York U., England) ; Raison, C (York U., England) ; Cubiss, J G (York U., England) ; Van Duppen, P (Leuven U.) ; Péru, S (CEA DAM) ; Hilaire, S (CEA DAM) ; Goriely, S (Brussels U., IAA) ; Andel, B (Comenius U.) ; Antalic, S (Comenius U.) et al.
The changes in the mean-square charge radius (relative to $^{209}$Bi), magnetic dipole, and electric quadrupole moments of $^{187,188,189,191}$Bi were measured using the in-source resonance-ionization spectroscopy technique at ISOLDE (CERN). A large staggering in radii was found in $^{187,188,189}$Big, manifested by a sharp radius increase for the ground state of $^{188}$Bi relative to the neighboring $^{187,189}$Big. [...]

$β$ -delayed fission of isomers in $^{188}$Bi

$β$-delayed fission ($β$DF) decay of a low-spin (ls) and a high-spin (hs) isomer in $^{188}$Bi was studied at the ISOLDE facility at CERN. Isomer-selective laser ionization and time gating were employed to investigate each isomer separately and their $β$DF partial half-lives were determined: $T_{1/2\mathrm{p},β\mathrm{DF}} (^{188}\mathrm{Bi^{ls}})=5.6(8)×10^3$ s and $T_{1/2\mathrm{p},β\mathrm{DF}} (^{188}\mathrm{Bi^{hs}})=1.7(6)×10^3$ s. We report on the development and characterization of the first radioactive boron beams produced by the isotope mass separation online (ISOL) technique at CERN-ISOLDE. Despite the long history of the ISOL technique which exploits thick targets, boron beams have up to now not been available. [...]

The Be7(n,p) cross section was measured with an ion-implanted Be7 target at a thermal neutron beam of the research reactor LVR-15 in Řež. The cross section to the ground state of Li7 is σ(n,p0)=43800±1400b and the cross section to the first excited state of Li7 is σ(n,p1)=520±260b..

Laser-spectroscopy studies of the nuclear structure of neutron-rich radium

The neutron-rich radium isotopes, Ra222−233, were measured with Collinear Resonance Ionization Spectroscopy (CRIS) at the ISOLDE facility, CERN. The hyperfine structure of the 7s2S01→7s7pP13 transition was probed, allowing measurement of the magnetic moments, quadrupole moments, and changes in mean-square charge radii. [...]

This paper reports on resonance ionization scheme development for the production of exotic radium ion beams with the Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source (RILIS) of the CERN-ISOLDE radioactive ion beam facility. During the study, autoionizing states of atomic radium were observed for the first time. [...]

Precision Mass Measurement of $^{58-63}$Cr: Nuclear Collectivity towards the $N=40$ Island of Inversion

The neutron-rich isotopes $^{58-63}$Cr were produced for the first time at the ISOLDE facility and their masses were measured with the ISOLTRAP spectrometer. The new values are up to 300 times more precise than those in the literature and indicate significantly different nuclear structure from the new mass-surface trend. [...]
