| Abstract | In the pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ pi /sup +or-/ systems of the reactions pp to KKm pi (m=4,5) two narrow peaks are observed at the positions of the delta and A/sub 1/ mesons. The measured masses and widths are: M= (956+or-7)MeV, Gamma =(46+or-22)MeV for the delta and M=(1076+or-5)Me V, Gamma =(36/sup +20//sub -15/)MeV, for the A/sub 1/. Their decay modes and spin-parities are shown to be mainly 3 pi , J/sup P/=0/sup - / and rho pi , J/sup P/=1/sup +/(D-wave) respectively. (8 refs). |
