Title Single chargino production via gluon-gluon fusion in a supersymmetric theory with an explicit R-parity violation

Abstract We studied the production of a single chargino chi /sub 1//sup +or-/ accompanied by a mu /sup +or-/ lepton via gluon-gluon fusion at the LHC. The numerical analysis of their production rates was carried out in the mSUGRA scenario with some typical parameter sets. The results show quantitatively that the cross sections of the chi /sub 1//sup +or-/ mu /sup +or-/ productions via gluon-gluon collision are of the order of 1-10/sup 2/ fb at the CERN LHC, and can be competitive with the production mechanism via the quark-antiquark annihilation process.
