Abstract

Abstract
CERN is simultaneously a scientific environment that could keep you safely ‘hooked for life’ but also the ideal place to inspire you to explore and nurture new ideas and perhaps branch out into the unknown. However, leaving a safe environment is a notoriously difficult decision: we know precisely what we leave behind, but we don’t know what we don’t know (and I can confirm it’s waiting for us around the corner!). In this seminar, I’ll share my honest little story of a jump-in-the-dark from the CERN Experimental Physics department to the start-up business.

Bio
Piero Zucchelli is founder and CEO of Andrew Alliance, a company specialising in novel liquid handling robots designed to enhance the reproducibility and efficiency of the pipetting process. Before founding Andrew Alliance, Piero was CTO of SpinX Technologies for 8 years and prior to that a staff member at CERN.
