Abstract | High availability in four quadrant (4-quadrant) converters is crucial in Large Hadron Collider (LHC) operation. The level of radiation will increase, and higher availability is required for each system. To get this aim, a new redundant 4-quadrant linear converter is developed modifying the control strategy of current converters in LHC. Applied characteristics and experimental results are exposed in this paper. |
