Lune is the maxi dress we've been dreaming to add to our wardrobe. Many customers choose it as their wedding dress and we can understand why: fully lined, with an impeccable, timeless cut inspired from a haute couture dress of the past, this quick make looks hundreds of dollars. You can choose to adorn it with beaded embroidery, like one of our customers did (pictured here), or make the bodice in a silk satin and the skirt in a silk crepe of the same color, for example. Alternatively, you could make it in your favorite fabric and wear it as a chic Summer dress: dress it up or down with heels or a denim jacket, take it to a date night or on the beach. This pattern comes with a bust adjustment option: choose your dress size from XS to XL and your cup size from A to G, and just replace the standard front bodice piece (drafted for a B/C cup) included in the pattern with the one you chose in your preferred size. FABRIC: woven fabric with a good drape: crepe, satin, twill... in silk, cupro, tencel, viscose, polyester... In 55'' (140cm) width : - 2.6 yards (2.4m) for sizes XS to M - 2.85 yards (2.6m) for sizes M to XL In 43'' (110cm) width: - 3.5 yards (3.2m) for sizes XS to M - 3.72 yards (3.4m) for sizes M to XL LINING: needs to be a very lightweight woven fabric with a similar drape to your main fabric (e.g. avoid using cotton poplin to line viscose crepe because they drape differently). In 55'' (140cm) width : - 2.5 yards (2.3m) for sizes XS to M - 2.73 yards (2.5m) for sizes M to XL In 43'' (110cm) width: - 3 yards (2.8m) for sizes XS to M - 3.18 yards (3.2m) for sizes M to XL A 40cm (15.7'') invisible zipper for V-neck back or a 60cm (23.6'') invisible zipper for regular back (or, for advanced sewists, we recommend moving the zipper to the side for a cleaner finish. In that case, a 30cm (11.8'') zipper will be enough), matching thread for your fabric, scissors, pins, a marking pen, a machine needle that fits your fabric type. You will also need some strips of silk organza to stabilize seams that are on the bias, to prevent any stretching (alternatively you can buy iron-on stabilizing tape, or even use strips of interfacing cut in the straight of grain).
