Decorating small apartments and homes is sometimes challenging, mainly when you need to design a small dining area which has to be comfortable, functional, and attractive

Those without a dedicated dining room can attest: Squeezing a space to have a meal can be a real feat. In Lara Wilhelm’s (The Unprofessional) 1940s home, for example, there was just a small transition area between the living room and the kitchen. “It had just enough space for a narrow desk that we used as a dining table,” Lara says.

In tiny homes where a single room often serves multiple functions, color can separate a space into zones with different functions. If your bedroom is also your office and your living room is also your dining room, try using paint as a visual divider to section off areas—without sacrificing an inch of livable space.
