All of a sudden I found myself in need of 13 yards of 1/2” wide finished double folded bias tape and creating this card stock DIY bias tape maker saved me. I’m sure I’ve seen this before, which is what made me think to do it, but in case this is your first time coming across this trick here is a guideline: - draw the full width of your bias tape on card stock (mine is 1.25” wide) - draw a parallel vertical line 1/4” out from the width of your bias tape line on either side - draw a parallel vertical line 1/4” in from the width of your bias tape line on either side - I made my bias tap Make Bias Tape, Sew Your Own Clothes, Bias Tape Maker, Diy Wardrobe, Clothing Diy, Handmade Wardrobe, Indie Sewing Patterns, Sewing Lessons, Fashion Sewing Pattern

Teagan Jacobs on Instagram: "Want to finish your bias bows beautifully? The best way to avoid fray is to follow my steps and fold your bias before sewing it shut. 1. Trim the corners of your bias tape on an angle 2. Open up the left side of the tape, keeping the right side folded over 3. Fold the tape down 4. Fold the tape over so it’s now in half, ironing before hand will make folding the tape in half a lot easier 5. Grab the left side of the tape, now fold it in and tuck it in the opening 6. Now sew your bias tape shut and press again This method leaves no raw edges or exposed corners, so rest assured your bias will not fray. Vivian Shao Chen on Instagram: "This is a step-by-step video to walk you through the v-neck bias tape instructions for the Laurence Top View A neckline. There are lots of methods for installing a v-neck bias tape, but I find this to be the cleanest and least bulky. The pattern calls for 1” tape. The steps numbered in the video correspond to the steps in the pattern instructions so you can follow along with the illustrations and text included in the pattern.

The Hana Tank + Dress Pattern features the bias binding method of finishing the neckline and armholes. While this method is a great scrap buster, the first few times you try it might be frustrating. It takes practice and a little patience to make sure all those seams lay flat with no puckering.
