Lauren Jansen | DIY on Instagram: "I did it!! I painted the garage doors black and… I LOVE THEM. I didn’t think I would honestly. I thought it would be too much for this home. But I think they ground and balance the house in such a nice way. The copper hardware doesn’t hurt either 🤌 oh and painting them wasn’t hard at all! Here’s how I did it… I started by removing the old hardware, cleaning the doors, and taping around the trim. Then I used a bonding primer (zinsser bondz) before applying two coats of Sherwin Williams Everlast paint in Tricorn Black with a flat finish. Make sure you remove the tape while the paint is still wet and raise the garage doors halfway for the paint to dry without the panels sticking together.
