Bathrooms are one of the most trafficked spaces in the home, and keeping them in tip-top shape is of the utmost importance. They’re great where you don’t want doors swinging into rooms or small spaces and getting in the way. The other way to hide an open door away is to create a recess (the thickness of the door) behind the door so it sits into the wall when open. I call this the ‘disappearing door’. You can’t have a handle on the door here, so use a roller or magnetic catch instead to keep the door shut. One thing we have discovered though is, particularly with over-sized pocket doors like ours, make sure to leave enough of a gap between the door and the walls either side.
