Genetic Apex (TCG Pocket)
Template:PocketInfobox Genetic Apex (Japanese: 最強の遺伝子 Strongest Gene) is the name given to the first expansion of cards in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
Information
Genetic Apex is the first main expansion released through Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. It focuses heavily on Generation I, featuring all 151 Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Red and Blue as well as the eight Gym Leaders of the Kanto region. Many of the set's new illustrations feature locations, characters, or from Kanto, and the majority of them appear as depicted in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen specifically, including the designs of the Gym Leaders.
Additionally, several of the Themed Collections made available alongside Genetic Apex have a connection to Generation I and the Kanto region:
- "First Choice" features the first partner Pokémon of Kanto;
- "Viridian Forest" features Pokémon found in Viridian Forest;
- "Different Journeys, Different Growth" features the first partner Pokémon and their evolutions;
- "Pokémon of Ancient Times" features Generation I Pokémon that can be revived from fossils;
- "The Legendary Flight" features the three legendary birds found in Kanto;
- "Safari Zone" features Pokémon that can be found in Kanto's Safari Zone;
- "Touring the Kanto Region" features Pokémon in various locations across Kanto;
- "A Big Snorlax Nuisance" depicts the sleeping Snorlax blocking Route 12 in Generations I and III.
Genetic Apex was released as part of the open beta in New Zealand on September 26, 2024, and became available worldwide with the global release of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket on October 30, 2024.
