All our items are vintage and are from Sphinx, a reputable English company that closed its doors in the early 2000s and if they look new to you, it's because they come from an unsold stock so never worn but nonetheless vintage. Founded in 1948, the Sphinx company was a British manufacturer, famous for its excellent quality costume jewellery. In addition to their own collections, often whimsical but always elegant, they have created jewelry for many talented artists and high-end stores, in Europe and the United States (Kenneth Jay Lane, Butler & Wilson, Nina Ricci, Caura, Fried Paris, Saks 5th Ave., Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Mark & Spencer...). Most pieces are signed with the name "SPHINX" in an oval cartouche, including an included number and sometimes a letter - or without the Sphinx name, just a number or a letter and a number. Some pieces are not signed. They were produced for customers who sold them under their brand.
