Including black fur hat with wide upturned brims edged with black leather which forms into a dainty bow at the side; a lavishly draped gold velvet turban with silk faille lining; a loosely woven green net bonnet that is covered voluminously with colorful white silk flowers tinged with yellow, and green silk leaves; and a draped turban of vibrant metallic colors with a large bow tie at the back neck which appears to capture the draped fabric, and with red silk faille lining. Excellent condition.

Plaice Skin Shoes • In Your Shoes
These Plaice Skin wedge evening sandals were machine made in Denmark in 1950. Plaice skin, like other fish leathers is strong and hardwearing. It took between 10 and 12 plaice to make the 'Neptune' suede, which has been tanned and dyed blue. The Danes started making shoes from fish skins during World War Two when the occupying forces confiscated their animal hides. They also used fish leather to make belts, harnesses and other accessories
