I knitted this baby elephant last week, when I was feeling a bit poorly. Garter stitch was all I could manage!! now I'm feeling ok again and I've sewn him up- I decided to be adventurous and use safety eyes for the first time on a garter stitch elephant. They seem to have worked ok- I just made sure I put plenty of stuffing around the eye stem before I added the washer to hold them in place. ( i still won't be giving him to a kiddo though!)

Just loved it so decided to make him!
