Item Details. This is stunning! A gilt silver embroidered collar from Anatolia to Turkey. Dating from the late 1800's, it would have been worn over a fine shirt or chemise and under a fitted jacket or bolero giving an elegant high neck silhouette to the wearer which was popular at the time. Possibly made for the European market for someone living in the Far East, it is covered in traditional gilt work embroidery on a pale apricot felted background and lined in a pale blue cotton. Stunning antique Victorian beaded collar( dress )overlay .. This bodice overlay is in very good vintage condition. There is some fraying of silk in upper back collar attachment ( shown in pictures ) .. back hook and eye closures. The top back eye is missing others are sturdy. There are a few beads missing and there is a little fraying of silk batting on the interior. But still very wearable piece of historical art.
