Happy Birthday Mia!!

You're 2!!

A lot has happened in the past couple of months that I have failed to yet blog about, but I didn't want to let this day go by without a post because two years ago today was one of the most beautiful and significant days of my life. I can honestly say what a blessing it is to be a mother. I cherish this responsibility, role and privilege. Mia has been a light (some might say ball of fire!) :) in mine and Bridger's life. I don't believe I could possibly love her anymore than I already do. Mia never ceases to amaze me. She is so intelligent, full of character and life. She is 2 going on 12. I'm going to use some of my bragging rights now...she knows her colors, shapes, ABC's can count to 10, has several songs memorized, can do anything, say anything, and remember everything! Watching her interact and communicate you would never guess she is only just turning two. The list goes on and on with her abilities and capabilities, but all that aside we feel so blessed to simply have such a beautiful healthy little girl. That in and of itself, we couldn't ask for more. I thank my Heavenly Father each day for this beautiful little gift of life He has added to mine. Happy Birthday Mia!! I love you more than you could possibly know!!

More pictures and posts to come after the parties!!

Halloween

Posted by Picasa

Finally getting around to posting Halloween; just in time for thanksgiving. That's about how on time I am for things. Anyways, we had a fun holiday. We took Mia over to Grams and Pa to go trick or treating and see all the cousins. Mia was pretty shy at the first few doors but it didn't take long for her to warm up; once she realized we were out to get candy. And of course I loved the idea of taking her out; more treats for me!
Bridge's family dresses up so it's always fun to go over and see what they come up with. Thanks Grams and Pa for letting us spend the night with you and enjoying your yummy cheese soup!

Gardner Village Part II & Pumpkin Patch

Posted by Picasa

We took Mia back on Halloween day to see the rest of the witches. She still wasn't to sure about them at first, but slowly warmed up to them. Bridge and I took Mia to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out her own pumpkin. I was so excited about getting some cute pictures in the patch. By the time we got there it was dark and cold. Mia was totally afraid of the pumpkins. Not sure why? Maybe because there were so many? Who knows, but she would not get down. We had to hold her the entire time. So much for the cute pictures. Finally when we got inside the tent she let us put her down. You can see in the pics she still wasn't thrilled about it. She did find some her size though and was willing to touch them. Better luck next year!

Gardner Village Part I

To kick off the halloween festivies we took Mia to Garnder Village to see the Witches. She loved the tractor ride to the witches house but when we got inside she wasn't so sure about what she was seeing. I think she liked everything that was going on but she didn't want to get to close to the witches. Before they closed we had the chance to take her on a pony ride. She didn't like it as much as she did last year but she also still talks about the "big" horse, so who knows. Since we didn't get to see all the witches we made a plan to go back during the day when it was warm so stay tuned for more pics.

Home

After being home for a month I'm finally playing catch up. It's over-whelming to me to write all that has happened (hence why I have been putting it off until now) so for the most I'll let the pictures do the talking. These are pictures of our trip home. As you can see the car was pretty loaded down. The scenery was basically the same the whole way so it made for a long two day trip. Mia was pretty good though. We only had to stop a few times for her; once to get her "barbie" she so desperately wanted. What 18 month old even knows what a barbie is? Needless to say she got one for being so good and to help entertain her on the long ride. When we arrived home Bridger's mom and sister had left us a few surprises! It was so nice to be home and also to be able to enjoy some of our favorite treats! Thanks so much Joni and Hailee, we appreciated it so much!! Love you guys!!

Since we've been home Bridger's been doing a lot of yard work. He weeded the 6ft. forest in our backyard (no exaggeration), trenched the yard twice, put in a sprinkling system and then seeded. Mia and I we're of course a huge help ;). It was a lot of work for Bridge and we're excited to finally have a backyard. Pictures to arrive in spring when we are completely finished!

One thing we had been looking forward to was spending time in the mountains. We couldn't wait to get home and go camping and have some campfires. Mia loved it too. Whenever we say "mountains," she says "fire." We've been so much that she can even sense the smell of a campfire when we're outside!

Bridge and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary! We spent the day up at Sundance. We went horseback riding, rode the ski lift, and hiking. We ended the evening with the best steak dinner around, Maddox. We had a lot of fun together and Sundance was beautiful! Thanks Bridge for planning such a wonderful surprise and thanks Mom for watching Mia all day so we could go. We owe you!!

We had some more campfires with the family. I have never seen so many hot dogs cooking over the fire.

We've had a lot of fun babysitting. Seeing what it's like to have a little brother or "buddy" as Mia calls him. She would be a good big sister. This past weekend she had four of them. We had a few slumber parties as we babysat my brothers girls over conference weekend. I think Mia is so lonely now without them! Thanks Katy for coming to help and thanks Savannah for coming over and playing with the girls.

18 Months

Posted by Picasa

It really is so hard to believe sometimes that Mia is already 18 months. This probably sounds cheesy I know but sometimes I feel like she has been apart of my life forever, and yet I can remember very distinctly the day she was born. I will never forget the overwhelming sense of joy I experienced and instant love I felt that day. Even though I can't fathom loving her anymore than I already do, each day it somehow grows stronger and deeper. She is truly a blessing to my life. She has brought so much happiness, laughter, and love to Bridger and I. Mia has grown up so quickly. She is often mistaken for being quite older than she really is. She interacts and communicates so well with people. I could be biased but she really is such a smart little girl. She catches on to things so quickly, and she never forgets them. She can comprehend pretty much anything we say to her. To say the least she is such an active, playful and fun loving girl. It's so bitter sweet to see our baby transform into a little girl. I want her to stay little forever and yet I love watching her learn, grow and develop.

We celebrated when we could. Party at the pool and picnic in the park.

Blue Man Group

Last weekend we went to see the Blue Man Group. We didn't really know what to expect, but it was actually really cool. We weren't aware that you couldn't take children so Bridger and I ended up taking turns with Mia out in the lobby of the theatre. To our surprise she was actually really good. There was so much for her to see that it kept her entertained for the entire two hour show. The show was one of the most random and creative things I have ever seen. I don't really know how to explain it so I guess you will have to see it for yourselves. It is definitely worth experiencing. They did allow us to take Mia in at one part, but she was really sacred, and now looking at the pictures of the blue man, I can see why. They look super creepy. We tried to get her picture with one, but as you can see she didn't want to get anywhere near him.

While we were outside waiting for the show to begin we couldn't help notice this guy. He totally looks like the guy off of the movie "Pursuit of Happiness." The hippy guy who thinks Will Smith is carrying around a time machine. Remember him? Anyways we were laughing because we watched this guy for like 20 minutes prepare to get on his bike, and when you watch the video you'll see why. I guess he goes around getting people to give him money for his stunt. It was crazy to see. He is also on You tube if you want to look him up. To actually see him in real life was just as good as some of the things we saw in the show. Needless to say we had quiet an entertaining night.
