The Open League Season 6 Recap: A Triumph of Community and Innovation
With Season 6 of The Open League (TOL 6) having come to a close, it’s time to reflect on all the highlights, milestones, and standout moments that made this season one for the books. With increasing user activity, impressive rewards, and incredible team performance, TOL 6 was the most successful season yet by various key metrics.
Let’s recap TOL season 6, covering everything from the airdrop madness to the rise of top apps, DeFi protocols, and NFT collections.
The airdrop season was on fire!
1.8M Normie and 217.7K Degen badges were minted throughout the campaigns. Of those, 20,094 wallets were eligible for the Normie airdrop (284 wallets excluded due to Sybil activity), and 1947 unique wallets obtained rewards for being active in the Degen campaign!
For the Degen airdrop, users needed to get a Degen badge and provide at least $200 of liquidity or trade for at least $1000 in the participating DeFi projects.
Average Degen airdrop size: $84.5
Maximum Degen airdrop size: $1,000
To be considered active participants in the Normie airdrop, users needed to get a Normie badge and make a transaction in at least two apps of the App League—176,000 unique wallets managed to achieve this! To qualify for the actual reward, the wallet's Normie score needed to equal or exceed 8 points.
Average Normie airdrop size: $49.7
Maximum Normie airdrop size: $584.6
The community came together in a big way, and the competitive spirit was palpable as wallets vied for the top spots.
1. App League: Growth, recognition, and top performers
83 TON Apps attracted 3.9M unique active wallets - a stunning 390% growth compared to Season 5! Well, no wonder - Blum alone hit 2.5M UAW.
It is also worth mentioning five Apps with the highest average Normie score among their users. **Squid TG, xRare, Fanton, Gatto, and Tonalytics** managed to attract the highest-quality active on-chain users—kudos to the teams; you are on the right track (and it will very much play into your hands in the next season!).
[The selection criteria for mentioning these five apps were that they have at least 1000+ UAW, with at least 30% qualifying as Normies and showing an average Normie score above 42.]
Now, drum-roll! The winners of the App League who showed the highest sums of their users’ Normie scores are:
They secured $75,000, $50,000, $35,000, $25,000, and $15,000 in extra prizes for their communities, respectively! Their users must be proud and grateful to share this $200,000 additional reward pool. Great job, teams!
2. DeFi League: Excellent TVL and trading volume performance
The DeFi League stole the spotlight with impressive numbers, highlighting the growth of the ever-evolving TON DeFi landscape. This season, the league recorded $6.9 million in TVL and a $103 million trading volume. The numbers don’t lie. This growth trajectory shows the increasing trust and interest in TON-based DeFi projects.
Top Performers in TVL:
- Hipo led the season, locking in $4.4 million.
- Aqua Protocol followed with $1.13 million.
- JVault rounded out the top three with $1.12 million.
To amaze you even more, some teams demonstrated unprecedented growth of their TVL since the season started: Parraton - 3000%, TON Hedge - 672%, and SettleTON - 351%!
In the Volume Squad, we’d like to highlight the performance of:
▪️ Tradoor topped the charts with an impressive $81.4M in generated volume
▪️ GasPump ($14.6M)
▪️ Rainbow Swap ($4.5M)
Each DeFi squad winner will share a $48K Adsgram credits reward pool, with the first place in each Squad getting $10K, followed by the second with $8K, and the third with a $6K reward.
Additionally, teams achieving $5M in TVL or $50M in monthly volume, like Hipo and Tradoor, are eligible for financial support for smart contract audits. They have gained the honorary status of the DeFi League Graduate and cannot participate in future seasons of the DeFi League—they are eligible for a separate incentive track instead.
3. NFT League: New heroes and creative growth
The NFT League was a vibrant arena this season, showcasing creativity and community engagement through incredible collections. Three projects rose above the rest, earning rewards and recognition:
- Gatto - $6,000 in Telegram ads credits.
- Crypton - $5,500 in ads credits.
- Smeshariki - $5,000 in ads credits.
These top collections captured the community’s attention, offering unique digital assets that resonated with collectors and fans. The projects featured in this season set the benchmark for future participants, proving that innovation and engagement are the keys to standing out.
4. TON Gateway Special Edition prizes for best performers
TON Gateway is the premier annual event that celebrates the TON Community's achievements and brings its ecosystem together to propel the mission of bringing Web3 to millions of Telegram users. TON Gateway is a central hub for collaboration and innovation supported by TON blockchain.
The top performers of the App and DeFi Leagues - Blum, Catizen, Yescoin, Tradoor, Hipo, GasPump, JVault, Aqua Protocol, and Rainbow Swap - received speaking slots and free tickets for their team or community.
For those who attended the Gateway, did you spot the promo for Gatto, NUTCRACKERS CLUB, and Crypton's stunning NFT collections on the large screen right at the main stage? That was their well-deserved reward for ranking top in the NFT League!
