• Care - $18 per month – provides comfort kits to support and bring solace to survivors of sexual assault
• Healing - $25 per month - provides art therapy for children, allowing them to express through art what they cannot say through words
• Compassion - $36 per month – provides care and protection of animals in danger through the Paws for Safety program
• Hope - $54 per month – helps prevent human trafficking by providing training and resources to protect vulnerable youth
• Justice - $75 per month – provides legal consultation, empowering victims with critical guidance, representation, filing orders of protection and other essential services
• *Prevention - $100 per month – provides educational programs for middle and high school students on dating violence prevention, consent, healthy relationships, and life-long safety
• *Safety - $150 per month - provides emergency hotline services, including listening, supporting, referring, safety planning, and more
• *Shelter - $200 per month – provides emergency shelter and other assistance for clients, including food, medical care, transportation, and other urgent needs

For more than 45 years, Center for Safety & Change has worked tirelessly with victims, survivors and their family members, offering life-saving and life-changing programs and services to thousands in Rockland and beyond. On October 5, 1979, we opened the doors to our Emergency Shelter and waited for the rotary phone to ring. The first day, we filled 11 beds and on the second day we filled the remaining four. Since then, the phones have not stopped ringing. Today, our shelter remains a safe haven for thousands of children and families. From Rockland Family Shelter to Center for Safety & Change, our agency has grown into our name, as the only victim-centered non-profit organization in Rockland, offering free and confidential life-changing programs and services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other crimes.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to develop strategies to end gender-based violence and provide shelter and supportive services that empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse and other crimes.
