happy halloween!

fritz and i joined some other baby friends in the ward for some trick or treating on chestnut street. judging by the fact that he slept the entire time, i think he really enjoyed it.

due date

yesterday was october 26th, which was our little guy’s official due date. it is crazy to think that instead of arriving yesterday he has been here for 5 weeks! when we went into the hospital i had a feeling that i was in real labor, but i thought that they would stop it and put me on bedrest and it would be a few more weeks before he was born. not so! we are so happy he is here and can’t get over how cute he is.

we had a visit last week from my brother tom and then this weekend from sarah and her sister brooke. this kid has definitely been spoiled with the amount of love and attention he has received from our family and friends!

fritz also went into my office to meet my co-workers last week where he showed off his two best tricks: pooping (loudly) and crying. good thing he is so stinking adorable!

one month young

little man fritz is officially one month old. this last month seems to have flown by – the first two weeks at the hospital, then the past two weeks with visitors and adjusting to having him home. he is doing great – at his one month appointment he weighed in at a whopping 6 lbs. 5 oz., up almost a pound from birth.

he started out on a pretty strict sleep-eat-repeat routine, and now he’s spending more and more time awake. he is a curious little guy, always turning his little head to look around with big, wide eyes. his favorite trick is spitting up on everything possible – my personal favorites so far are down my shirt and into my shoe (while i was wearing it). he loves moving his arms around and his cries sound like a little goat. we did our first “tummy time” session with andy last weekend and he love/hated it. he also had his first bath last week which he loved after an initial shriek of pure terror. he smiles, although unintentionally, and it is so adorable.

Home at last

We made it home with Baby Frederick Friday morning and Brooke’s parents arrived from Phoenix shortly after.

It’s great having Joe and Mary here – it provides a much greater level of confidence in the care we give the boy.

Today we’re watching conference in our living room. I’m sprawled out on the couch with the little one asleep on my chest.
