Hdb?

Yesterday, I did an interesting thing.. I went house hunting!! Ok, not exactly house hunting cause I didn't hunt. More of look.

All because of my mom. Our house received a pamphlet that there's a 5-room flat in my block on sale. So my aunt & cousin who just bought a house nearby, and my mom were interested in looking at the flat! Think they wanted to compare the layout, the interior design yest. And me was free yest afternoon, so I went along...

So I, yes I, became the "buyer". I'm the girl who's supposedly looking around at houses near my parents'. So that's the story.

Anyway, about the house. It's actually the flat just beside mine, but a few storeys lower. To tell you the truth, although I've stayed in my house for more than 9 years, I've never gone to neighbour's house and never figured how the 5-room flats in my block look like. So it's the first time! Hmm, layout is quite different compared to mine, except the long living cum dining room part. Renovation's not too bad. Not much built-in furniture. Anyone wanna consider? Think buyer hoping for close to 400k though. *faint*

Who says wedding is cheap... haha

Life

Things happen for a reason....

I asked quite a few pple out to go on tonight (friday night), but all were busy. Maybe it was meant for me not to cancel last minute on my friends! Had a sudden sore throat starting on thursday afternoon. Decided to take mc today cause I didn't like the feeling of a swollen throat.

So that's why I was free on a friday night!

Desanitized

Had a talk with an ex-classmate, then with bear. Topic was on guys in certain occupation and their occasional promiscuity acts.

Such disturbing thoughts...Guys finding prostitutes overseas and also locally. Of course not all guys are like that, but it's a scary thought. Even with girlfriends or wives, some guys still engage in such acts...

Or maybe my life is too sanitized.. It's actually the life outside mine. Or maybe it's actually in my world but I didn't notice at all. Actually, why am I surprised? This is not a new thing that I do not know of. Or maybe it's because it's suddenly so close to me. I won't even know which of my friends are of such type... Imagine a girl can't even tell if her bf/husband is cheating on her!

Oh well, went to Joo Chiat yesterday for the first time in my life! Went there with 2 friends to steamboat. Always heard of the place 'joo chiat' but no idea where it is. Didn't realize it's also a promiscuos place. After dinner, saw quite a few suspicious pubs, groups of sexy ladies standing or sitting around, foreign workers and uncles drinking beer in coffee shops with ladies...

*cross fingers*

Night Safari

Finally got something to blog about that's out of the norm in my life!

Went to Night Safari with bear on good friday. My 2nd time there. I can't remember when my first trip was. Only remembered that I went with my family. Should be slightly after night safari opened.

From my long ago faded memory, I remembered that I could barely see any animals while taking the tram ride. It was horribly dark and dim out there. Everytime they said there were wolves or wat not, I couldn't see anything...

This time, my idea of a boring night safari changed. Went there thinking that there won't be much people. To my surprise, I saw hundreds of pple queueing for the tram ride at 830pm. Decided to join the queue for the show. Wasn't too bad. The animals were very cute, especially the otters!

Took the tram. Was quite amazed by the narrator on the train. She could spot the animals very easily and this time I saw a lot of animals!!! Haha..

After the tram ride, we decided to explore on foot instead. I realized that I'm quite scared of bats. Went into this cage with bats hanging just 1m away. My hair just stood and my legs can't resist taking me out of the cage.

Well well well.. Night safari's not too bad after all!

Filiae Melioris Aevi

Worked overtime today.. On my way out of office, the tune of this song suddenly appeared in my head.

Now as we remember
Strains of our school song
Call to find our motto
Filiae Melioris Aevi

Filiae Melioris Aevi
Daughter of a better age
United by a common goal
Filiae Melioris Aevi

Not very sure if my lyrics are absolutely correct, but the tune just stuck in my head.... Been a long time since sec sch. For those not from the same sch, it's one of our school songs. Filiae Melioris Aevi is the school motto

Think sec sch really had a great impact on my life. Fellow schmates, don't you agree?

Full..

Today is an utterly humful day..

Went with J for lunch near Bugis. I can't remember the road name but it's near the flea market where uncles sell second hand goods. We went there specially for the 'jie shuang qiao' laksa. Yummy!!!

My parents brought me a few times there before since I was young. It has changed from one coffee shop to another though. Now it's in the coffee shop with parking spaces in front and an open field.

Basically the laksa gravy is not the milky type. It's very light but tasty with a lot of 'hum'. I think maybe 8-10 in a bowl? Good for hum lovers. Noodles of medium length, to be eaten with spoon only. Between the 2 of us, we ate 1 $3 bowl each, wanted more and then shared a $2 bowl..

So that was lunch... *burp*

Went for dinner with parents. They brought me to Commonwealth market for 'Hai Kee' char kway teow. Wow, first-hand experience sia. Firstly, it's a super long queue. At least 12 pple in front of me when I first queued. Then it took super long for the queue to move. After a while, I realized the reason. It's a one-man show. He'll stir fry a batch of noodles, then scoop them up into a bowl. Next, he'll scoop out one plateful of noodles and fry with the sauce, etc. No wonder it took so long! It's been a long time since I've seen pple fry one plate by one plate. Highly consistent quality sia...

After a whole 50 mins, i finally got my plates of char kway teow! Wow, 'humful' sia. My mom requested for the 'hum' to be non-fried but just placed on top of the noodles. The three of us will just quickly bury the hums under the noodles and "cook" it slightly. But before I did that, I counted. In my $2.50 plate, it had 21 hums, i.e. 10 cents per hum plus the noodles at a highly small fee.

So, I guess that means I have at least 30 hums swimming into my stomach today.. *burp and rub tummy*

Oh, while queueing, I took turns with my mom. Got distracted by another long queue at a 'charcoal bbq grill' stall sending western food. Abt 8-10 pple in the queue every time. The price wasn't cheap. $6 for chicken/pork chop, $6.50 for chicken/pork cutlet, $9 for steak. I wonder if it's really that delicious. Shall consider trying if I have the time and patience..
