巷では Google Chrome が話題だ。 Google 曰く、「自分たちが理想とするブラウザの形の提案」だそうだが、理由はそれだけではあるまい。 Google は IE もあまり好きではないだろうが、それ以上に Mozilla Firefox も嫌いな筈である。 WebKit 系ブラウザに比べて動作が重い １タブのトラブルがブラウザ全体に波及する Google Gears を採用していない（利用はできる） 広告阻害プラグインがある（それが可能なプラグイン機構がある） 1〜3 はまだ許せるかもしれないが、4 は看過できない問題だ。Google の主要な収入源は広告事業だが、AdBlock Plus 等の広告阻害プラグイン群はこの収入源を脅かしている。Mozilla Foundation が AdBlock Plus をお勧めプラグインとして提供している事も彼らには許し難いに違いない。
