AYA Choices Study

The AYA Choices study is being done to learn how Adolescents and Young Adults navigate choices in their health care coordination. This study will interview a small number of people aged 15 – 30 years old who are living with non-cancer chronic illnesses.

What is the purpose of this study?

The goal of this study is to identify how adolescents and young adults (AYAs) living with non-cancer serious illnesses take part in their health care coordination. This population faces unique challenges with accessing services and coordinating health care. This study will help providers, such as palliative care specialists, better support their patients with complex experiences.

Who can join?

You may be able to join if...

  • You are between the ages of 15 and 30
  • You are living with any serious or chronic illness besides cancer
  • You make health care choices with at least one provider involved in pediatric palliative or hospice care

  • You have ever been diagnosed with cancer

What will participants be asked to do? 

Complete about 2 or more interviews online or in-person with the study coordinator.

Will participants be paid? 

Participants will not be paid.
