My high school anthropology teacher was actually part of the reason why I decided to leave VT. Many of my classmates stayed in-state for college, but I felt a bit sheltered. I love New England, but it tends to be quite homogenous... lacking diversity. I went to school in NY amidst a huge array of cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
