Patriotic book stack | By Western Grace home Decor | Hi, guys. It's Mandy from Western Grace and today, I thought I would show you one of my most favorite Patriotic DIY crafts that I've done. Um I'm just going to make this cute little bookstack and so what you're going to need is three books. It doesn't matter. You could use Dollar Tree books and just take the covers off and then, I'm using a little home decor wax to dingy them up and a baby wipe and I'm just painting it on there and I'm do all three of the books that way and I didn't like fully cover each of the tops of them because later on we're going to glue them together so basically just the spots that you can see is what I did on the bottom ones and now I'm going to take this garden flag and I know that some people might think that this isn't good to cut this flag up but it's just a garden flag it's and it is making a decor piece so I I didn't find anything wrong with it. But anyways so you're just going to cut off what you want. And I got the garden flag at Tuesday morning last year. And so I don't know ours closed and so I don't know if you can find them. But anyways they're just little garden flags. So anyway and then I just cut it to size. And then I'm just going to take some hot glue and glue it to the top. And it's kind of a plasticky canvassy material. Um so it's really super easy to work with. And then what I did was I just printed out the words that I wanted on my binding onto some vintage paper. And it says Sweetland of Liberty. And I just picked like a scrolly font. Um and then I just took some paper and ripped it. If you get the paper wet and it easier to tear. And I thought it looked you know more vintage being torn. Now I'm taking some gold rub and buff and I'm going to rub that all over the pages. I just think it makes it look super cool. Makes your pages look like they're golden you know. Um and I'm also doing it on some of the binding and around the edges. I love how rustic but classy this kind of turns out too. Um so I love that gold with that you know rusty dingy look too. And it just makes it look really vintage and you know old. So and I'm still just going on all the pages. Looks really cool. Again just kind of going around the edges where you know you you'll be able to see it. You don't have to cover the whole entire thing. And doing the pages on the top one. And then I'm just going to stack them all together and Now I'm taking a little bit of Mod Podge to glue on the or Mod Podge down the letters on the binding or the words on the binding. And I just used the Mod Podge to stick it down and then Mod Podge over the top of it to seal it on all three of the books this will be a super cute little decor piece to put in a patriotic vignette. Um or you could like put a candle near it or on it. Um I just think it's super cute to put on like an entryway table or an end table. Even a coffee table or centerpiece would be cute too. So now I'm taking the home decor wax again. And I'm just going to take a paint brush and go around it all and dingy it up even some more still And then I decided to use my finger. It was working better. I love to do a little finger painting. It's all part of the thing. It gets it real dingy in there. Didn't want to cover up my words though. Here we go. Then dry it really good. Add some more gold wherever I think. And then I'm going to take my jute rope. Well I was going to wrap it around it and then I decided I better glue them together first. So now I'm just using a little hot glue to glue all three of the books together. Just makes them a little bit more stable. Now, I'm taking my jute and I'm going to wrap my jute around them And then I had some rusty stars and I'm going to add the rusty stars to the top of it. Just for an extra little you know something cute on there. And then I'm just going to tie them all on there. Leaving a little gap in between each one. And there it is guys. A super cute little piece of decor. Um if you like this please sprinkle it along. Oh I did take some stays on and go around the edges. Um just to give it even a little bit more dimension. Um and you'll see how that adds a ton to it. But anyways guys if you enjoyed this please sprinkle it along for me. If you don't know what that means that just means share it. Um so that more people can see it. And I hope you enjoyed it. And I hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for watching guys.
