Coach Nate K-G on Instagram: "The standing Arm Wrap to EB Swing is a classic combo that’s great to work on your skills without actually jumping! Make sure that the rope wraps around your wrist so you can control the rope easily. If the rope wraps around your elbow it's going to be way harder to do this combo smoothly The hand that's not wrapped should point at your wrist Then unwrap the rope on the other side and then drop your non-wrapped hand straight to the ground. That's how you get into the EB position easily! From there, use both of your hands to pull the rope over your head Once the rope is in front of your body, open up your hands, bring the rope over your head and then finish the combo! Then reduce the amount of bounces in between each raise. ⭐ Hop on one leg a few times, then switch feet. Then reduce the hops on each leg until you’re just doing one at a time. Here’s how I teach students to unlock the basic mechanics of this pattern in my live classes - with a real focus on the wrist, elbow and shoulder actions. For most people, focusing on tossing the rope OVER the shoulder (and not to the side) is the key to unlocking this brain bender pattern. This requires really focusing on keeping a straight forward-backward movement in Step 1. If you start swinging that rope sideways, it’s going to smack you. Rule 1 in Rope Flow: Physics always wins!
