The diskspecs file (extension .diskspecs) contains two sets of disk
specifications. The diference between the two specifications is only
that the second specification (with appended _validate) contains slips
and defects while the first specification does not. The first
specification should be used when using DiskSim for simulation.

Before using DiskSim for disk simulation, make sure that the .parv
file entry "Disk brand name" contains the disk's brand name without
the suffix _validate. The .parv file is set, by default, for use with
validation trace that was taken on a disk containing slips and
possibly defects.
