Ray,

We are buying a copy of IPP from a vendor that represents Media Cybernetics.
I like it, but wish the software were more flexible in letting the user
enter his own convolution filter kernels and kernel dimensions, and in
entering custom structuring elements for morphology (including ability to
use multi-kernel filters such as the Hit-or-Miss algorithm(s)). It'd be
nice to be able to specify extreme-value algorithms using custom kernels
also. I haven't seen any software that's really IT yet, but could you feed
back these requests to your developers? Can I get a response from someone
on this and info on whether or not future upgrades will contain any of
the above. Hate to mention competitors, but Global Lab Image (I think
that's the name of it) is closer to what I'd like with the morphology
stuff, and LView Pro is closer to what I'd like with the convolution kernel
definition, but nobody does it all. IPP is close! You can take this offline
and go with email or have someone give me a call if you want. See my .sig
for the contact info. THANKS! (Does the macro language support more
flexibility than the menu-driven portion of the software? I'm just looking
at the demo version while waiting for the 'real thing' to arrive...)
What I really want is a quick, easy to use, trial and error image processing
package that'll allow me to experimentally develop algorithms without
writing the software...until I think I'm pretty close anyway.

Thanks in advance!!
Brian Dixon

PS: Yes, I'm aware of packages costing MUCH more (I can think of 2 big names
that you are probably aware of already), but after demo'ing them I got
the impression that they were not nearly as 'finished' as Image Pro Plus
and certainly not as easy to use...
