Hmmm, would these be Futaba servos?  They are controlled by a PWM signal
that has a high time of around 1ms to 2ms, with your 1.52ms being center
of the servo's throw.  They get the 4.8 volts because it works nicely
with their kits which have 4 1.2V rechargeable nicads to drive them.  They
will work off of 5 volts.  I think the fastest that these servos can deal
with updates is around 68Hz.
