Hi all,

As of 11 pm (PDT) today (7/30/94), Dante II has descended over 150
meters into the active crater of Mt. Spurr. Walking will continue over
the next several days. The latest status information, images, and
technical details can be found on the WWW site run by the NASA Ames
Intelligent Mechanisms Group. The URL is:

	http://maas-neotek.arc.nasa.gov/dante

Since several people have requested that status reports be mirrored to
comp.robotics (for those who don't have direct Internet access), I
will be posting old reports as well as all subsequent ones.

If anyone has questions, I can be contacted at:

	terry@ptolemy.arc.nasa.gov

Cheers,

Terry Fong
