I've a short list of robotic applications, mainly in the UK and Italy, where
robots have been used for various jobs on real live people. These have mainly
been funded from an academic or government basis and the systems never seem
to have got very far after having been 'proved'.

What I'm after is some recent work, possibly involving leading edge technology,
where there is a real chance of real commerce getting into the act of supplying
equipment. I know the States has a reputation of expensive litigation in the
medical world and this may have stemmed this type of work. Others seem to be
using the funding for those self propogating academic report producing
projects (no harm in them!).

I shall put together a list of replies, information and gory details I already
have as soon as I can. So watch this space.
