I know there has been numerous postings about this Radio Shack r/c truck
with treads, but for those of you considering on making/building a small
robot vehicle consider getting one.  The price here in Cleveland (yes, that
is Ohio and not Texas) is only $20 and if you want a cheap platform you
better get it now before they are all gone.  I am buying up a couple of them
for a robot contest I hope to hold next school year, and after fooling
around with one I am hooked on it.  If we are going to use the vehicle on
a smooth surface, the traction is bad because of the rubber treads so you
might have to modify the vehicle a bit.
