Are there any good books for designing control circuits for AC-motors.
I picked up some surplus motors at a local store. The books I've seen
just talk about AC motor replacement and not really control-circuit
design. I'm interested in:

1.) Calculating the type of AC Motor required to do a certain amount
    of work. (Torque, Load, etc.)

2.) The timing circuits used for different types of AC motors.
(Using triacs, caps, etc. to control reg., capacitive, etc. AC
    motors)

It would be nice to have a book which, given a motor, you could
calculate the amount of work it would do and the timing/control
circuit you'd need to do it.

Thanks in advance for any info!
