The Wall Street Journal reports that a major push is underway to
automate agriculture in Israel. The object is to replace Palestinian
workers with robots, in conjunction with the political/military effort to
keep them out of the country. A melon-picking machine with video-guided
grippers is being tested, and AGV-type machines are already being used
in fields.
