I dont know about Vancouver but there is a good market here in Ottawa. 
Carleton University (Which is in Ottawa ) is the only university that teches 
Smalltalk as a first year programning languge insted of Pascal or Turing.
As long as you have more then 2 years of experience in Smalltalk you 
should not have a problem finding a job.
