Here is a clip from a message by Arthur von Hoff who
works on the Java project:

"We think it is a great idea to target multiple languages at our VM.
We are even willing to help you do it and incorporate new features if
required..."

My wish is that some of you who are knowledgable about
Scheme implementation would put together a request for
needed features for Scheme implementation to be added to
the Java virtual machine.

A Scheme compilable to the Java VM and that would make Scheme
mobile and secure across the Web sounds like a real winner
to me.

You can find von Hoff in comp.lang.java.
