There are tons of Scheme for Linux.
Please see for example

	ftp.cs.indiana.edu:/pub/scheme-repository/imp

or

Of all scheme, I recommend STk-2.1.
The newest release is STk-2.1.5 which you can get at

	kaolin.unice.fr:/pub

It comes with an interface to the Tk toolkit and also a C-interface,
you can make use of the C-interface to build your own primitive.
But I am not sure whether Linux binaries exist. 
But any way, I spend no particular effort compiling the sources in Linux.
