That's no problem for me, as I have no preference as far as Unix
variations are concerned. The Linux advantage of being popular
and widely available (I got it from a magazine cover CD-ROM)
are far more important to me.

That is a serious problem. After the luxury of the 68K, I was
frustrated when I moved to the 386 - not least because it also
meant I had to use it in real mode. My Forth port to the x86
suffered heavily because of this, and the lack of registers didn't
help, either.

Me, too! It's the only way I'll get hold of a Lisp of that quality.
