Charm counting in b decays / ALEPH Collaboration
The inclusive production of charmed particles in Z -> bb decays has been measured from the yield of D^0, D^+, D^+_s and Lambda_{c}^+ decays in a sample of qq events with high b purity collected with the ALEPH detector from 1992 to 1995. From these measurements, adding the charmonia production rate and an estimate of the charmed strange baryon contribution, the average number of charm quarks per b decay is determined to be n_c = 1.230 \pm 0.036 \pm 0.038 \pm 0.053 where the uncertainties are due to statistics, systematic effects and branching ratios, respectively..

A study of tau decays involving eta and omega mesons / ALEPH Collaboration
The 132 pb$^{-1}$ of data collected by ALEPH from 1991 to 1994 have been used to analyze $\eta$ and $\omega$ production in $\tau$ decays. The following branching fractions have been measured: \begin{eqnarray*} B(\tau^-\to\nu_{\tau}ømega h^-)&=& (1.91\pm 0.07\pm 0.06 )\times 10^{-2},\\ B(\tau^-\to\nu_{\tau}ømega h^-\pi^0)&=&(4.3\pm 0.6\pm 0.5)\times 10^{-3},\\ B(\tau^-\to\nu_{\tau} \eta K^-)&=&(2.9^{+1.3}_{-1.2}\pm 0.7)\times 10^{-4},\\ B(\tau^-\to\nu_{\tau}\eta h^-\pi^0)&=&(1.8\pm 0.4\pm 0.2)\times 10^{-3} \end{eqnarray*} and the 95\%~C.L. Measurement of the Forward-Backward Asymmetry in $Z \to b\overline{b}$ and $Z \to c\overline{c}$ Decays with Leptons / ALEPH Collaboration
The sample of hadronic Z decays collected by the ALEPH detector at LEP in the years 1991-1995 is analysed in order to measure the forward-backward asymmetry in $Z \to b\bar{b}$ and $Z \to c\bar{c}$ events and the $B^0-\bar{B^0}$ average mixing parameter $\bar{\chi}$. Production of excited beauty states in Z decays / ALEPH Collaboration
A data sample of about 3.0 million hadronic Z decays collected by the ALEPH experiment at LEP in the years 1991 through 1994, is used to make an inclusive selection of B~hadron events. Measurement of the $\tau$ Lepton Lifetime with the Three-dimensional Impact Parameter Method / ALEPH Collaboration
A new method is presented for the measurement of the mean $\tau$ lepton lifetime using events in which $\tau$'s are pair-produced and both $\tau$'s decay to hadrons and $\nu_\tau$. Based on the correlation between the two $\tau$'s produced at a symmetric $e^+ e^-$ collider, the 3DIP method relies on the three-dimensional information from a double-sided vertex detector and on kinematic constraints for the precise measurement of the $\tau$ decay angles. Observation of doubly-charmed B decays at LEP / ALEPH Collaboration
A search for doubly-charmed B decays with both charmed mesons reconstructed is performed, using about 3.8 million hadronic Z decays recorded with the ALEPH detector at LEP. A clear signal is observed in the channels ${\mathrm B\rightarrow D_s \bar D}(X)$ and ${\mathrm B\rightarrow D \bar D}(X)$ (where D can be either a D$^0$, a D$^+$ or a D$^{*+}$), providing the first direct evidence for doubly-charmed B decays involving no ${\mathrm D_s}$ production. Measurement of the mass of the $\Lambda_{b}$ baryon / ALEPH Collaboration
In a data sample of four million hadronic \Z\ decays collected with the ALEPH detector at LEP, four $\Lambda_b$ baryon candidates are exclusively reconstructed in the $\Lambda_b \rightarrow \Lambda_c^+ \pi^-$ channel, with the $\Lambda_c^+$ decaying into $pK^-\pi^+$, $p\bar{K^0}$, or $\Lambda\pi^+\pi^+\pi^-$. The probability of the observed signal to be due to a background fluctuation is estimated to be $4.2 \times 10^{-4}$. [...]
