Determination of fission barrier height of $^{210}$Fr and $^{210}$Ra via neutron measurement / Veselský, M (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Rubovič, P (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Petousis, V (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Natal da Luz, H (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Burian, P (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Mánek, P (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Meduna, L (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Smolyanskiy, P (IEAP CTU, Prague) ; Raabe, R (Leuven U.) ; Camaiani, A (Leuven U.) et al.
Fission barrier heights of short-lived nuclei away from line of β stability are not known reliably. Low-energy fission of Fr210 and Ra210, produced by (d,p) and (d,n) transfer reaction on the re-accelerated unstable beam Fr209 was investigated at HIE-ISOLDE. [...]

New developments of pixel detectors based on GaAs sensors offer effective registration of the transition radiation (TR) X-rays and perform simultaneous measurements of their energies and emission angles. This unique feature opens new possibilities for particle identification on the basis of maximum available information about generated TR photons. [...]

Decay modes of the $9/2^-$ isomeric state in $^{183}$Tl / Venhart, M (Bratislava, Inst. Phys.) ; Andreyev, A N (JAERI, Tokai ; York U., England) ; Cubiss, J G (York U., England) ; Wood, J L (Georgia Tech., Atlanta) ; Barzakh, A E (St. Petersburg, INP) ; Van Beveren, C (Leuven U.) ; Cocolios, T E (Leuven U.) ; de Groote, R P (Leuven U.) ; Fedorov, D V (St. Petersburg, INP) ; Fedosseev, V N (CERN) et al.
The internal transition decay and α decay of the $T_{1/2} = 53.3$ ms, $9/2^-$ isomeric state in the neutron-deficient isotope, $^{183}$Tl, have been studied using the Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source and the Windmill detection setup at the ISOLDE facility at CERN. Clean samples of $^{183}$Tl were produced by selective laser ionization and subsequent mass separation. [...]

Timepix3 as solid-state time-projection chamber in particle and nuclear physics / MOEDAL Collaboration
Timepix3 devices are hybrid pixel detectors developed within the Medipix3 collaboration at CERN providing a simultaneous measurement of energy (ToT) and time of arrival (ToA) in each of its 256$\times$256 pixels (pixel pitch: 55 µm). The timestamp resolution below 2 ns allows a measurement of charge carrier drift times, so that particle trajectories can be reconstructed in 3D on a microscopic level ($z$-resolution: 30-60 µm). The detailed analysis of the β-delayed fission data of $^{180}$Tl is presented. The experiment was performed by producing a pure beam of $^{180}$Tl by means of highly selective resonance laser ionization followed by mass separation with the ISOLDE (CERN, Geneva) isotope separator. [...]

Low-energy β-delayed fission of At194,196 and Fr200,202 was studied in detail at the mass separator ISOLDE at CERN. The fission-fragment mass distributions of daughter nuclei Po194,196 and Rn202 indicate a triple-humped structure, marking the transition between asymmetric fission of Hg178,180 and symmetric fission in the light Ra-Rn nuclei.
