A perturbed lepton-specific two-Higgs-doublet model facing experimental hints for physics beyond the Standard Model / Crivellin, Andreas (CERN) ; Heeck, Julian (Brussels U.) ; Stoffer, Peter (Bonn U. ; Bonn U., HISKP)
The BaBar, Belle, and LHCb collaborations have reported evidence for new physics in $B\to D\tau\nu$ and $B\to D^*\tau\nu$ of approximately $3.8\sigma$. There is also the long lasting discrepancy of about $3\sigma$ in the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, and the branching ratio for $\tau\to\mu\nu\nu$ is $1.8\sigma$ ($2.4\sigma$) above the Standard Model expectation using the HFAG (PDG) values. New Physics in $B$ decays / Crivellin, Andreas (CERN)
While the LHC did not observe direct evidence for physics beyond the standard model, indirect hints for new physics were uncovered in the flavour sector in the decays $B\to K^*\mu^+\mu^-$, $B\to K\mu^+\mu^-/B\to Ke^+e^-$, $B_s\to\phi\mu^+\mu^-$, $B\to D^{(*)}\tau\nu$ and $h\to\tau^\pm\mu^\mp$. Each observable deviates from the SM predictions at the $2-3\,\sigma$ level only, but combining all $b\to s\mu^+\mu^-$ data via a global fit, one finds $4-5\,\sigma$ difference for NP compared to the SM and combining $B\to D^{*}\tau\nu$ with $B\to D\tau\nu$ one obtains $3.9\,\sigma$. A two-Higgs-doublet model facing experimental hints / Crivellin, Andreas (CERN) ; Heeck, Julian (Brussels U.) ; Stoffer, Peter (Bonn U., HISKP)
Physics beyond the Standard Model has so far eluded our experimental probes. Nevertheless, a number of interesting anomalies have accumulated that can be taken as hints towards new physics: BaBar, Belle, and LHCb have found deviations of approximately 3:8sigma in B -> Dtaunu and B -> D^*taunu; the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon differs by about 3sigma from the theoretic prediction; the branching ratio for tau -> mununu is about 2sigma above the Standard Model expectation; and CMS and ATLAS found hints for a non-zero decay rate of h -> mutau at 2.6sigma. $B$ Decays and Lepton Flavour (Universality) Violation / Crivellin, Andreas (CERN)
LHCb found hints for physics beyond the standard model in $B\to K^*\mu^+\mu^-$, $B\to K^*\mu^+\mu^-/B\to K^*e^+e^-$ and $B_s\to\phi\mu^+\mu^-$. In addition, the BABAR results for $B\to D^{(*)}\tau\nu$ and the CMS excess in $h\to\tau^\pm\mu^\mp$ also point towards lepton flavour (universality) violating new physics. [...]

Combined Explanation of the $Z\to b\bar b$ Forward-Backward Asymmetry, the Cabibbo Angle Anomaly, $\tau\to\mu\nu\nu$ and $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ Data / Crivellin, Andreas (CERN ; PSI, Villigen ; Zurich U.) ; Manzari, Claudio Andrea (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich U.) ; Alguero, Marcel (Barcelona, Autonoma U. ; Barcelona, IFAE) ; Matias, Joaquim (Barcelona, Autonoma U. ; Barcelona, IFAE)
In this article we propose a simple model which can provide a combined explanation of the $Z\to b\bar b$ forward-backward asymmetry, the Cabibbo Angle Anomaly (CAA), $\tau\to\mu\nu\nu$ and $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ data. This model is obtained by extending the Standard Model (SM) by two heavy vector-like quarks (an $SU(2)_L$ doublet (singlet) with hypercharge $-5/6$ (-1/3)), two new scalars (a neutral and a singly charged one) and a gauged $L_\mu-L_\tau$ symmetry. Explaining the LHC flavour anomalies / Crivellin, Andreas (CERN) ; D'Ambrosio, Giancarlo (CERN) ; Heeck, Julian (Brussels U.)
The LHC observed deviations from the Standard Model (SM) in the flavour sector: LHCb found a $4.3\,\sigma$ discrepancy compared to the SM in $b\to s\mu\mu$ transitions and CMS reported a non-zero measurement of $h\to\mu\tau$ with a significance of $2.4\,\sigma$. Here we discuss how these deviations from the SM can be explained, focusing on two models with gauged $L_\mu-L_\tau$ symmetry. [...]

Effective field theory approach to $b\to s\ell\ell^{(\prime)}$, $B\to K^{(*)}\nu\bar{\nu}$ and $B\to D^{(*)}\tau\nu$ with third generation couplings / Calibbi, Lorenzo (Beijing, Inst. Theor. Phys. ; Brussels U.) ; Crivellin, Andreas (CERN) ; Ota, Toshihiko (Saitama U.)
LHCb reported anomalies in $B\to K^* \mu^+\mu^-$, $B_s\to\phi\mu^+\mu^-$ and $R(K)=B\to K \mu^+\mu^-/B\to K e^+e^-$. Furthermore, BaBar, BELLE and LHCb found hints for the violation of lepton flavour universality violation in $R(D^{(*)})=B\to D^{(*)}\tau\nu/B\to D^{(*)}\ell\nu$. [...]

Explaining $h\to\mu^\pm\tau^\mp$, $B\to K^* \mu^+\mu^-$ and $B\to K \mu^+\mu^-/B\to K e^+e^-$ in a two-Higgs-doublet model with gauged $L_\mu-L_\tau$ / Crivellin, Andreas (CERN) ; D'Ambrosio, Giancarlo (CERN ; INFN, Naples) ; Heeck, Julian (Brussels U.)
The LHC observed so far three deviations from the Standard Model (SM) predictions in flavour observables: LHCb reported anomalies in $B\to K^* \mu^+\mu^-$ and $R(K)=B\to K \mu^+\mu^-/B\to K e^+e^-$ while CMS found an excess in $h\to\mu\tau$. We show, for the first time, how these deviations from the SM can be explained within a single well-motivated model: a two-Higgs-doublet model with gauged $L_\mu-L_\tau$ symmetry. [...]
